India Week Hamburg - Review 2019
Dr. Peter Tschentscher, the First Mayor of Hamburg, inaugurated India Week Hamburg with around 450 guests in Hamburg City Hall.
Around 25,000 visitors took part in the colourful programme and enjoyed new insights into a country that has a wealth of traditions to offer and is, at the same time, a significant emerging economy. The opportunity to get to know India in its cultural diversity at concerts, exhibitions and dance performances, as well as an Indian cooking course and various movie screenings was enthusiastically accepted. In panel discussions, workshops and conferences, Indian and German experts discussed current social trends and the economic potential of relations between Hamburg and India with their audience. Overall, India presented itself as a partner with many opportunities and promises.
